WATER SOURCES

There are 2 types of water source for an irrigation system:

  • municipal water supply
  • a pumping station, which can be in the house or outdoors
  1. If the water source is a municipal water supply, then do nothing and skip this step. If it is a pumping station, then you need to prepare it for launch. Connect the pump to the American tap, close all the taps and open only the tap to fill the tank.
  2. While the container is filling, find all the valves, close the drain bolt and the solenoid.
  3. Find all the water intake columns (these are hose connection points or other taps that serve to draw water) and close them. But leave the farthest one open. This means the farthest from the water source.
  4. Start the pump (or open the municipal water supply tap) and wait until the water washes the entire highway and spills well through the far water intake column (so that small debris does not get into the valve, but goes out through it). Close the column.
  5. Next, sequentially open all water intake columns one by one until all the air is released and the water is well rinsed from this water supply point. Usually, after the air comes out, you need to wait 10-20 seconds.
  6. Change the battery in the controller. Regardless of whether the battery works well or not, we recommend to change it every year, so there will be no problems during the season.
  7. Using the controller in Manual mode, run water through each zone. First 1, then 2 and so on.
  8. If these are sprinklers, then we look at how correct the watering angles in them are (correct, if necessary) and the range (also, correct).
  9. If there is a drip zone, wait until the entire tube is filled with water and if there is some damage, repair it.
  10. Next, check if the pump is pumping. If it does, find and fix the problem. This is very important, since with the water intake column and valves closed, the pump should gain the necessary pressure and stop, but if it pumps every 5-10 minutes, this indicates a water leak.
  11. Set the controller to spring mode.
  12. It is also very important to make sure that the container is completely filled with water and that the float is working correctly.

In this manual, it is very important to follow the steps in sequence and not to change the order of actions. Otherwise, you may create additional problems.
