For a lawn to be bright, green and beautiful, it must be healthy. In late autumn, due to temperature changes and excess moisture, the grass stand is affected by fungal diseases. The most common fungal disease during this period is “rust” on the lawn. To avoid this unpleasant lawn disease, or if it is already affected, follow these 5 simple steps:

  1. Turn off the watering.

Now the lawn has stopped growing and does not require much water. The moisture that falls with precipitation, as well as with fog and dew, is quite enough for it.

  1. Mow shorter.

For better ventilation, mow the lawn not too high, but not at the minimum height, too, so that it should has time to grow back in the event of an imminent frost. The middle position of the lawnmower is optimal for that, during late autumn.

  1. Aerate.

This procedure is extremely beneficial for the lawn. It will also improve ventilation by removing dead wood from the lawn grass. Removing dead wood is also useful, because fungal spores may develop better in it. But, if there are no hay — there are no fungus.

  1. Sprinkle with sand.

The sanding procedure is highly desirable, since sand helps to better remove moisture from the surface. Use only sifted river sand, as it does not contain salt, unlike sea sand.

  1. Treat with fungicide.

Even if the lawn does not suffer from a fungal disease, treat it with a fungicide for prevention of it. If it is already affected, this will stop the disease, also. We use Falcon fungicide at a concentration of 25 ml per 10 liters of water and with a flow rate of 10 liters of solution per 200 sq. m. m. lawn.

Carry out all procedures correctly, observing technology and safety precautions, and your lawn will delight you even in a cloudy autumn!
